Swimming

Swimming at RIS is not only a core life skill but also an integral part of the Junior School curriculum for Grades 1-4:

  • Encourages physical fitness, stamina, and overall health, while promoting a love for water based activities.
  • Teaches water safety and essential survival skills, building confidence in and around water. • Conducted by professional and experienced coaches, ensuring proper technique, safety, and progression.
  • Identifies talent during regular class sessions, with opportunities for students to join the school swimming squad.
  • Provides pathways for competitive participation at zonal, national, and international levels.
  • Promotes discipline, perseverance, and goal-setting, as students track progress and improve their skills.
  • Supports teamwork and sportsmanship, especially during squad and inter-school competitions.
  • Lessons are integrated within the timetable, ensuring consistent practice alongside academic learning.
  • Builds resilience, confidence, and a sense of achievement, as students master new skills and overcome challenges.

At RIS, swimming goes beyond the pool — it equips students with lifelong skills, fitness, and confidence, while nurturing both talent and character.
