RIS MANUSSAKAMA

RIS Manussakama is the social responsibility arm of our school, dedicated to fostering compassion, community engagement, and meaningful contributions to society. Through a variety of initiatives and projects, we encourage our students to give back and make a positive impact on the world around them. At RIS, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom, and through Manussakama, our students learn the importance of empathy, service, and social responsibility, developing into thoughtful and active global citizens.

IT Lab Donation project

We were honored to recently provide a computer laboratory to Wa/Sri Rahula Vidyalaya in Weragala as part of our “RIS Manussakama” social care program. This initiative came to life thanks to the heartfelt request of the principal of Sri Rahula Vidyalaya, with financial support from RIS and the hard work of alumni and parents from Sri Rahula Vidyalaya who contributed their time and effort. The laboratory was officially opened on March 5, 2024, by our Chairperson Madam Sandra B. Wanduragala. Through the “RIS Manussakama” program, we aim to support schools where underprivileged children study, working together to uplift education in the North Western Province. We believe in the power of education to bring about positive change in our world, echoing Nelson Mandela’s profound words: ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.’ At RIS, we embrace this belief wholeheartedly, knowing that by nurturing education, we help build a brighter and more inclusive future for everyone. With unwavering dedication, we are proud to stand by our community, knowing that through education, we can make a meaningful difference.

Library Construction – 2023

The RIS Manussakama One Book project has come to a successful and heartwarming conclusion, thanks to the incredible support of the entire RIS community. In collaboration with the Royal Foundation for Education, this project has brought a wonderful change to Weherabenda Junior School by establishing a new reading facility. As a special Christmas gift, the school also received 1,500 books in all three languages, enriching the educational experience for countless young minds.

This initiative goes beyond providing much-needed educational resources; it showcases RIS’s deep commitment to serving the Kurunegala community. By addressing critical social needs, we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. The completion of the One Book project is a beautiful example of what can be achieved when a community comes together with a shared purpose. It reminds us of the power of collaboration and the importance of supporting one another to create positive change

'සුව නාරි' project

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the ‘සුව නාරි’ project under the RIS මනුස්සකම initiative. This project was a special endeavor in honor of Women’s Day, with a focus on prioritizing women’s health and welfare.

Throughout the implementation of the project, our team worked tirelessly to ensure that the needs of women in our community were met. From providing access to healthcare services to promoting overall well-being, we are proud to have made a positive impact on the lives of many.

As we reflect on the success of the ‘සුව නාරි’ project, we are reminded of the importance of supporting and empowering women in our society. By coming together and working towards a common goal, we can create a brighter future for all.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported us in this endeavor. Your contributions have truly made a difference and we are grateful for your continued support.
