Self-Defence

Self-Defence is introduced at RIS as a structured part of the Grade 5 & 6 curriculum to develop both physical and mental skills:

  • Builds confidence, self-discipline, and personal responsibility in students.
  • Enhances agility, coordination, and overall physical fitness, supporting a healthy lifestyle.
  • Promotes resilience, focus, and adaptability, helping students face challenges positively.
  • Encourages respect, self-control, and teamwork, fostering strong social values.
  • Provides a pathway for talented students to participate in inter-school competitions and represent the school.
  • Lessons are integrated within the timetable, ensuring consistent practice alongside academic learning.
  • Reinforces mindfulness and mental clarity, complementing other holistic activities at RIS.

At RIS, Self-Defence is more than a physical skill — it is a tool for shaping confident, disciplined, and resilient individuals.
