Holistic Learning Beyond the Books
The RIS Junior School Experience

At our Junior School, we believe that true education extends far beyond the pages of a textbook or the results of an examination and learning is not merely about absorbing theoretical knowledge it is about experiencing the world, developing essential life skills, and unlocking each child’s individual potential.

We foster an environment where education comes alive through hands-on experiences, creativity, collaboration, and exploration. Our approach integrates academic excellence with real-world learning opportunities, ensuring that students develop into confident, capable, and compassionate individuals.

Students actively participate in creating, experimenting, and presenting their work. They engage in group activities, real-life projects, continuous assessments, and practical tasks that give meaning and purpose to their learning journey.

Our curriculum is not limited to academics alone — it is carefully structured within the timetable and curriculum to enrich students with a wide range of life skills and co-curricular activities that shape them into well-rounded individuals.

In addition, our students are engaged in real-world experiences such as shopping activities, organizing fairs, and managing projects. These opportunities help them practice responsibility, leadership, decision-making, and independence.

  • Cookery (Grades 5 & 6 Only) – developing independence, creativity, and healthy habits.
  • STEM Education (Grades 5 & Upwards) – encouraging innovation and problem-solving.

At the end of each school day, every child takes away more than academic knowledge — they gain a skill, a value, or a meaningful experience that will serve them for life. At RIS, we are not just preparing students for examinations — we are preparing them for life. Our commitment to holistic education ensures that our learners are equipped with the knowledge, skills, values, and resilience needed to thrive in the modern world.

  • Eliminates inequality in resources — ensuring all students have access to the same high-quality materials.
  • Ensures teachers can plan and conduct lessons effectively, as every student has the required materials.
  • Supports independent learning and organization skills, as students maintain their materials responsibly throughout the year.
